Finding The Best Estate Sales Tucson Has To Offer

By Coleen Torres

Seeking unusual and antique articles can be a real thrill but there are not many places to find them. One of the best methods of locating articles such as this is to research the estate sales Tucson has in the vicinity. It is just a matter of making the effort and taking the time to find these treasure troves and then getting the directions to the areas they are located in.

Peruse the local newspapers and magazines for notices of these events. When you begin to attend these regularly, form strong relationships with the companies that put them on so they will give you notices of approaching events. If you live in a large city, you may even be able to drive around on weekends and locate signs announcing the newest ones.

Make a list or have an idea of what you are seeking so you don't get caught up in looking at items you do not need or don't have space for. It can be overwhelming to be face-to-face with a houseful of various items and furniture for sale so it is always best to be focused on only those articles that you are currently seeking for your home or business.

Always attempt to be early to these events. The first half hour of the sale is critical so you may want to get there at least 15 minutes to one half hour early. You may even find a line at the entrance when you arrive. As soon as the event begins, make a beeline for those items that you are looking for. Getting distracted could cost you the loss of a desired item to another customer.

If you have the time, always attempt to return to the sale at the closing time as proprietors will only be too willing to unload items that have not sold so they will not have to transport or store them. Some true bargains can be had for the patient shopper.

Prices can be quite elevated at these events so don't be shy about offering a lower bid. Some companies will work with you while others are firm on the pricing until the last few hours. You may also get a discount if you purchase several items.

Don't be afraid to pay for quality. Often older items are much more well made than new items are today. Purchasing a quality antique will give you a piece of furniture that may last the rest of your life and will keep its resale value forever.

Never show up at one of these functions thinking you are only going to purchase small items that will fit easily in the trunk of your car. Just as soon as you follow this line of thought, you will fall in love with an antique roll top desk or wrought iron outdoor patio set that you just can't live without. Always have some type of method to transport your purchases so you do not have to leave them behind. If you have a friend with a truck or van that enjoys these jaunts as much as you do, offer to pay for her gas in exchange for taking her handy vehicle along on the excursion.

The sales you will find and attend are sure to be intriguing and fruitful. Being prepared, prompt and assertive will assist in finding deals and steals that you will enjoy for months and years to come.
