A Trip Down Memory Lane With The Chinese Gold Panda Coin

By Cecile Ingram

There is an increased activity in the production of coins in different countries these days. With varying investment transactions, the utility of this precious item is also made apparent. To date, the Chinese gold panda coin is considered as one among the most beautiful you can find in a global scale.

At the reverse side, you can see the panda imprint representing a lifetime of Chinese beliefs. The name itself hold its own beauty, and that is tradition running its course. The legend from which this ideology is patterned points to the belief that human beings once evolved from the said animal.

On the other side, you will see another imprint that represents another image. This is of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests in the Temple of Heaven. This was built in the 1400s and is reminiscent of the legend that says the Chinese emperor traveled to the place to pray for abundant harvests. Reportedly, this happened twice in a year, a trip from the Forbidden City to the temple.

There is a particular kind of impression that is given off by pandas. Surely you will know this once you see one imprinted on the surface. Some find it funny and amusing, for the novelty aspect is quite an addition the currency. What is certain though is that with the rarity that you get to see pandas, there is a certain charm to its look that you cannot shake off.

Back in 1982, this was the time when the concept of the design surfaced. Collectors were quite amused that such concept would exist in the investment market. There may be varying reasons as to why this particular design is being sought out, but the main prompt is because of the novelty it displays.

Reportedly, the panda design used on the coins were changed annually. This means that no two designs are similar with every year that succeeds the other. This is one of the factors why the interest from collectors is sustained all throughout. The materials being reproduced is unique to a certain timeline, which is why it is a good idea to keep some for nostalgia.

Given this idea, you can expect to see the bear in various stages of rest or activity. You can see it searching for food, eating food and relaxing in a way that it knows how. These frolics are quite revelations especially since they are seen imprinted on coins that are circulated for monetary transactions.

The constant change is quite fanciful because it awards you with a changing view every year. You can then see the timeline of the switch and make comparisons of how the designs have evolved through time and continued use. While it used to be that gold bullion coins were released exclusively for a limited edition, the minting these days have become more forgiving.

Specialized shops have a variety of collectibles that you can check out. Although there is no guarantee that you will find older editions of the Chinese gold panda coin, patience and hardwork in research will also pay off. While at your investigative mode, always remember to be curious about the history of the collectible so that you will know the story behind each.
